Day 5: Sharing the Good News
Scripture:
You learned the gospel from Epaphras, our dear fellow slave—a faithful minister of Christ…who also told us of your love in the Spirit.
- Colossians 1:7-8
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
- Romans 10:14
Devotional:
The Gospel isn’t just something we receive—it’s something we share. Epaphras was faithful in bringing the good news to the Colossians, and they, in turn, shared it with others. Once we’ve been shaped by the cross—by faith, love, and hope—we’re called to lead others to the cross. So that they may receive faith in the Lord Jesus, know the love of God's forever family, and experience hope in heaven.
The world needs the good news of Jesus, and we are the messengers. When we share the Gospel, it continues to grow and bear fruit, transforming more lives for the Kingdom of God.
It is undeniable that the Devil has profoundly numbed our generation to the fact that people are going to hell. We must confess our comfortable complacency and ask God to break our hearts for the many lost souls in our world. Just think of the many people we meet every day who do not have a certain hope for tomorrow, have not received new and eternal life, and do not know the never-ending love of their Creator.
If we want them to know and follow Jesus, then we must go and tell them about Jesus.
Reflection:
Who in your life needs to hear the good news of Jesus? Ask God to open a door for you to share His love and grace with them this week. Don’t be afraid—just like Epaphras, you are called to be a faithful messenger of Christ. If we don't do it, who will?
Prayer:
"Lord, give me boldness and love to share the Gospel with those around me. Let me not keep the good news to myself but be faithful in spreading it so that others can come to know You. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
Sermon Quote:
“Those who are shaped like the cross, have a desire to share the cross.”
